The Blackwood Hat Shoppe

The Blackwood Hat Shoppe has a huge collection of traditional, fashion and racing hats and fascinators. It was opened in 2016 and has grown into a one stop shop for all your head wear needs. Hats made from wool felt and fur felt, straw and raffia, cotton and linen as well as the new material Toyo are all available in many styles and sizes including 4XL and extra small including children’s hats. Karen Bermingham (proprietor) has an excellent knowledge of the styles and what suits different shaped heads. She encourages visitors to play with styles and will always fit the hats so that they are comfortable and stay on in the wind.

The Blackwood Hat Shoppe has an old world charm with its hessian walls and antique furniture. The building was built in 1872 as a bank during the gold rush. In has been many things over the years and now houses the Hat Shoppe, Blackwood Retreat Centre and Blackwood Bed and Breakfast.
